Yikes it’s been a while…

Yikes it has been a while since my last post.  Let’s not do that again!  I guess I haven’t spent that much time cooking and coming up with recipes that seem good enough to share.  But I did put together a tasty salad which I think it worthy of sharing, so back to blogging!

When you need a simple side…

I am not sure how many people noticed but my website was down for about a day.  For me, a person who really doesn’t understand computer codes, nor do I really want to, it is super frustrating when something isn’t working.  Whenever my site is down I tend to spend way longer than I shouldRead more

Let’s make something with Rose Water!

I love using new ingredients! A few months ago my friend Sandy gave me a bottle of rose water for my birthday.  Rose water is made by steeping rose petals in water.  Its flavor is used quite a bit in Persian cuisine.  Rose water is also used in cosmetics and has medicinal uses as well. Read more

Vegan Caesar

A couple of years back we took a cruise with my parents and my brother’s family. We had never been on cruise, didn’t really know what to expect and honestly didn’t think we would like it as much as we did.  It helps we went on a pretty awesome ship – Royal Caribbean’s Allure ofRead more

Mushrooms

Mushrooms. They are an ingredient that I have never really liked.  Well I like sauces and such made with mushrooms, but actually eating a mushroom is not my thing.  So when I opened the next cookbook in line, I was surprised I had actually tagged a recipe which featured mushrooms.  But in the quest toRead more

Chasing Summer

Summer is my favorite season.  Mostly because I REALLY don’t like winter.  I hate the cold, I hate the long dark days.  Summer is so much cheerier and fun.  Especially having a yard with a pool makes summertime that much more enjoyable.  So with summer this year wrapping up I decided to make a very summeryRead more

All star way to serve celery

One of the fun things about my blog is there are actually people out there who read my blog!  And a few readers even get super into reading my posts.  One reader in particular, Jolie, wants to start a Cooking with Rosemary Fan Club and has even joked (or maybe it’s not a joke) about makingRead more

Easy Healthy Transportable Lunch

Brown rice is something I really have never cared for.  It always seems gritty to me.  And it takes a lot longer to cook than white rice.  But it’s said to be the healthier better choice.  If you haven’t guessed it the next recipe features brown rice…and I have to say it kind of made meRead more

Squid Salad

I really dislike wasting food.  I do my best to only purchase food that I will use.  It’s not always easy, schedules change, things come up, plans change and as a result I end up with rotten food.  This next recipe I was originally going to make a week ago, but life happened and IRead more

Another Seafood Cocktail?!

Something strange that seems to happen is that I have very similar recipes all clumped together.  In the summer I had endless soup recipes.  Well 2 recipes ago I had a scallop and shrimp cocktail recipe.  Well when I opened the next book I found I have another seafood cocktail recipe, or Salpicon de Mariscos, asRead more

Not my favorite of salads

As I have stated a bunch before I love Vietnamese food.  I will also say I have had this next dish in a restaurant before and liked it…so even though this recipe was a fail for me, it could have been my technique or it could have been the actual recipe I was following.

Poached Veggies with Sweet Sesame Dressing

Well this one was kind of a failure, on a couple of levels, but not necessarily the fault of the cookbook I used, Plenty.  Plenty is a vegetarian cookbook, and if you are into that sort of thing you will be happy to know a second cookbook, Plenty More, was recently released.

Another Breakfast – Ham and Swiss Sandwich

Along with the cookbook Thug Kitchen, see last post, Matt had brought me another cookbook  home from the same business trip.  The other cookbook is called The Feed Zone Cookbook.  It’s made for athletes so the recipes tend to be healthy but also high in protein.

Back to the BEGINNING!! Grilling – again, kind of…

pretty pretty!

Well remember WAY back when I started my blog and had my first successful dish?  Well it came from the cookbook Grilling by Louise Pickford.
