A bit of a break from The Cookbook Project to celebrate our friend’s Ivan’s birthday! On Sunday we celebrated. The recipe you ask – a pool full of friends (which can include new friends stranded in Windsor en-route from Chicago to Toronto) + lots of meat + 2 mini fridges full of booze + 1 piñata = 1 great birthday party![hr] [row_fluid][span4] [/span4][span8] Ivan told me in advance he would bring the meat. He buys his meat at Remark and the quality is top notch. The grill was completely full – steak, lamb, pork chops, pork skewers, chicken and sausage.
[/span8][/row_fluid] [hr] [row_fluid][span4] [/span4][span8] To go with the pile I decided to make a recipe from the website Thug Kitchen. Ironically Thug Kitchen is a website full of Vegan recipes. But they had a recipe for an herb pasta salad I have been wanting to try for a while so I decided to pair that along with the meat pile. I modified the recipe slightly so if you want to make it as I did you can grab the recipe here. (BTW I also added spinach which I forgot to include in the recipe) I grilled some veggies and Ivan made a spinach salad which completed our meal.
After dinner the fun continued. Ivan was blindfolded and got to smash a piñata!
